Dr. Kathleen Babbitt has been practicing veterinary medicine for the last 22 years. She attended and graduated from Purdue University. Dr. Babbitt prides herself on using low-stress handling techniques in order to promote a positive experience in the clinic. In her spare time, she can be found running, watching serial killer documentaries, or spending time with her family and pets.
Carder graduated from The University of Findlay with a Bachelor’s Degree in Pre-Veterinary Medicine and The Ohio State University with a Master’s Degree in Nutrition and Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. He has a horse named “Steele”, two dogs named “Attakah” and “Rusty”, and a cat named “Squeaky”. His hobbies include running professional fireworks shows as a licensed pyrotechnician, the outdoors, and being on the water. At work, he enjoys the surgical, nutritional, and clinical aspects of veterinary medicine. He also enjoys the daily interactions with clients and patients.
Dr. Nathan attended Ross University and has been a practicing veterinarian for the last 17 years. Dr. Nathan prides himself on his education and earning the trust of clients in order to better take care of their pets. In his free time, he loves spending time with his children and wife in the great outdoors.
Dr. Melissa Metz has been working in veterinary medicine for the last 17 years. She attended Clemson University and Ross Veterinary School. She prides herself on treating her patients with respect and compassion as well as restoring true wellness in her patients. In her free time, she can be found spending quality time with her family, gardening, bicycling, playing pickleball, reading, or enjoying the outdoors.
Cody has been practicing management in the veterinary field for 14 years. He attended Allen East, OSU Lima, and studied Health and Rehab Sciences with a focus on Management. Cody prides himself on establishing trusting relationships with clients and patients throughout all their pet’s life stages. In his free time, he enjoys all things Disney, family activities, church activities, Pokemon, and candle making.
Jennifer has been working in the veterinary field for the last 17 years. She attended school at Rhodes State. She prides herself on her client/patient relationships. In her spare time, she can be found enjoying time with her family.
Our Veterinary Technicians
Audrey attended Miami Jacobs Career College in Troy, OH, and has been practicing in veterinary medicine for the last 5 years. She prides herself on giving surgical and hospitalized patients the best way she can. In her free time, she enjoys playing video games and making homemade bar soap.
Josalyn attended Columbus State and has been practicing in veterinary medicine for the last 3 years. She prides herself on creating relationships between clients and patients as well as enhancing client education. In her free time, she can be found traveling, spending time outdoors, or spending time with her family.
Our Veterinary Assistants
Kylie earned her bachelor’s at Ohio State University and has been practicing veterinary medicine for the last year. She prides herself on being compassionate and empathetic as well as applying new facts and skills that she’s learned. In her spare time, she can be found spending time with her familly, hiking, reading, or shopping.
Bekah has been practicing for almost 4 years and is currently enrolled in Penn Foster Technician Program. She takes pride in seeing sick patients improve and having friendships with pet owners. She enjoys spending time outdoors, visiting family in Florida, and hanging out with friends.
Chantee has been practicing veterinary medicine on and off for about 13 years and attended school at Brown Mackie. Chantee prides herself in building a relationship with clients and providing the best care possible. In her free time, she spends time with her grandkids, reading, gardening, and watching sports.
Morgan has been working with animals since High School as barn hands at local horse barns and is currently enrolled in the University of Findlay for the Pre-Veterinary Program. She takes pride in being open with people to make them feel comfortable as well as their animals during hard times. In her free time Morgan like to horseback ride and go on late-night drives with her significant other!
Sydney completed her externship with us through Sinclair Collage at the Shawnee location. She impressed us and she has agreed to come on board with the Metz Petz team! Sydney will be working in the Shawnee location as a Veterinary Assistant but intends to take her boards this summer to become a Registered Veterinary Technician.
Our Office Staff
Jerri has been with Metz Petz for the last 5 years. Jerri excels at communicating with clients and loves seeing everyone’s pets. In her free time, she can be found with her husband and family or taking her grandson on adventures.
Denise has been with Metz Pets for the last 6 years. Denise prides herself on her calm, helpful, friendly attitude. She tried her best to answer all questions and concerns. In her free time, Denise enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, enjoying retired life, and working part-time at the best veterinary clinic!
Sophie has been practicing for 7 months and went to school at Wapakoneta High School. She prides herself in answering questions to the best of her ability and setting up appointments. In her free time she likes riding and working with horses and also enjoys doing her makeup and hair.
Brooklyn has been working with Metz Petz for the last 6 months. She prides herself on being able to bring a smile to our clients’ faces. In her free time, she loves spending time with her boyfriend and play games with her friends.

Our Kennel Assistants
Laura graduated from the University of Findlay in 2014 with a B. S. in Animal Science. She’s been working with animals for the last 6 years. She prides herself on taking care of boarded pets the same way she would take care of her own pets at home. In her free time, Laura loves doing anything creative.
Lead Kennel Assistant
Nate has been working in veterinary medicine for the last 7 years, after completing ABC veterinary assistance program. He prides himself on making sure all animals are comfortable during their stay with the clinic. In his free time, he loves to travel, play music, and bond with his dogs.
