About Metz Petz Veterinary Clinic

Ada Opening Date: November 2007 | Shawnee Opening Date: August 2010.

What do we love about our area? Our clients are like family. Most of us were born and raised in this area and we know the needs of our clients. We love creating long, lasting relationships with our clients and patients.

Drs Metz have always had a love for animals and both spent some of their younger years shadowing in veterinary clinics. Drs Nathan and Melissa met while in Vet School at Ross University in St. Kitts. They were married on the island. After doing their clinical year in Texas they decided to move closer to Dr Melissa’s hometown of Wapakoneta. After practicing at other local veterinary clinics they acquired the Ada location (previously known at Countryside Clinic with the late Dr Houx) and a few years later they acquired our Shawnee location (previously known at Elmview Veterinary Clinic with Dr Brenneman).

Dr. Sherri came to us to help keep up with some routine surgeries. We love Dr Sherri for her calm demeanor and quick, delicate surgical techniques.

Dr Babbitt came to us from MedVet looking for a better work life balance. Dr Babbitt is experienced in pet nutrition having previously worked as a Clinical Veterinarian with Hill’s Pet Nutrition, she has experience in shelter medicine, and emergency medicine. Dr Babbitt is a great addition to our team and is happy to serve the community she calls home.

Dr Carder came to us from another local clinic. Dr Carder previously worked as a mixed animal practitioner seeing livestock and small animal patients. Dr Carder sees only small animal patients in our practice and has a special interest in nutrition having received his Master’s degree in Animal Nutrition prior to going to Vet school.
