Our Veterinarians
Dr Carder
Veterinarian, MS
Carder graduated from The University of Findlay with a Bachelor’s Degree in Pre-Veterinary Medicine and The Ohio State University with a Master’s Degree in Nutrition and Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. He has a horse named “Steele”, two dogs named “Attakah” and “Rusty”, and a cat named “Squeaky”. His hobbies include running professional fireworks shows as a licensed pyrotechnician, the outdoors, and being on the water. At work, he enjoys the surgical, nutritional, and clinical aspects of veterinary medicine. He also enjoys the daily interactions with clients and patients.
Dr Nathan
Veterinarian
Dr. Nathan attended Ross University and has been a practicing veterinarian for the last 17 years. Dr. Nathan prides himself on his education and earning the trust of clients in order to better take care of their pets. In his free time, he loves spending time with his children and wife in the great outdoors.
Dr Melissa
Veterinarian
Dr. Melissa Metz has been working in veterinary medicine for the last 17 years. She attended Clemson University and Ross Veterinary School. She prides herself on treating her patients with respect and compassion as well as restoring true wellness in her patients. In her free time, she can be found spending quality time with her family, gardening, bicycling, playing pickleball, reading, or enjoying the outdoors.
Dr. Jesse
Veterinarian
With over seven years of experience, Dr. Jesse brings a lifelong love of animals and a thoughtful, personalized approach to veterinary care. From a childhood spent “doctoring” stuffed animals to a career focused on supporting pets and their people, Dr. Jesse is passionate about making every visit count. They have special interests in surgery, behavior, and helping new pet owners feel confident and informed. Known for their compassionate and down-to-earth style, Dr. Jesse tailors care to each pet’s unique needs.
When not in the clinic, Dr. Jesse enjoys baking, cooperative video games, and building elaborate cosplay costumes from scratch.

Cody
Practice Manager
Cody has been practicing management in the veterinary field for 14 years. He attended Allen East, OSU Lima, and studied Health and Rehab Sciences with a focus on Management. Cody prides himself on establishing trusting relationships with clients and patients throughout all their pet’s life stages. In his free time, he enjoys all things Disney, family activities, church activities, Pokemon, and candle making.
Jennifer
Practice Manager
Jennifer has been working in the veterinary field for the last 17 years. She attended school at Rhodes State. She prides herself on her client/patient relationships. In her spare time, she can be found enjoying time with her family.
Our Veterinary Technicians
Audrey
RVT
Audrey attended Miami Jacobs Career College in Troy, OH, and has been practicing in veterinary medicine for the last 5 years. She prides herself on giving surgical and hospitalized patients the best way she can. In her free time, she enjoys playing video games and making homemade bar soap.
Josalyn
RVT
Josalyn attended Columbus State and has been practicing in veterinary medicine for the last 3 years. She prides herself on creating relationships between clients and patients as well as enhancing client education. In her free time, she can be found traveling, spending time outdoors, or spending time with her family.
Sydney
RVT
Sydney completed her externship with us through Sinclair College at the Shawnee location. She impressed us and she has agreed to come on board with the Metz Petz team! Sydney had been working in the Shawnee location as a Veterinary Assistant. Sydney is now a Registered Veterinary Technician!

Cory
Veterinary Assistant
Cory graduated from the University of Finlay in 2023. She takes great pride in treating every pet as if they were her own and enjoys educating pet owners. In her free time, she enjoys gardening, traveling, and spending time with her friends and pets.
Elisa
Veterinary Assistant
Elisa has dedicated herself to veterinary medicine for three years, finding joy in helping animals fully recover from illness or injury. In her free time, she enjoys reading, listening to music, and spending time with her cats and Chihuahua.
Makinley
Veterinary Assistant
Makinley brings 4 years of experience in veterinary medicine and is currently studying Zoology at OSU Lima. She prides herself on creating a safe, welcoming environment for both pets and their people—making sure every client feels seen, heard, and cared for without judgment. Outside of work, you’ll find her spending time with her cat Peaches and her two chinchillas, diving into a good book, visiting family, or heading off on spontaneous side quests with friends.
Kyleigh
Veterinary Assistant
Kyleigh has been working in the veterinary field for 3 years and is currently enrolled in school to become a licensed technician. She prides herself on being patient and understanding, while also furthering her education and improving patient care.
In her free time, she likes to read, play video games, make art, and hang out with her family and pets.
Zoie
Veterinary Assistant
Zoie is new to the veterinary field and is currently working toward her Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) degree. She shares her home with five pets: Hazel, a Vizsla; Milo, a Yorkiepoo; Teiko, a bearded dragon; Gizmo, a skinny pig; and Maple, a guinea pig.
In her free time, Zoie enjoys working out, hiking, watching movies, cooking and baking, and competing in Spartan races. Her favorite part about working at Metz Petz is the supportive and welcoming team—it truly feels like a great work environment.

Lead Customer Service Representative
Jessica has been in the veterinary field for 10 years and takes pride in providing exceptional customer service. Outside of work, she enjoys giving back to the community by volunteering with local sports teams.
Denise
Receptionist
Denise has been with Metz Petz for the last 6 years. Denise prides herself on her calm, helpful, friendly attitude. She tried her best to answer all questions and concerns. In her free time, Denise enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, enjoying retired life, and working part-time at the best veterinary clinic!
Kara
Receptionist
Kara holds a bachelor’s degree in International Communications. She shares her life with her Goldendoodle, Duncan, and has been married to her best friend for a year and a half. Kara loves being part of the Metz Petz team because of the amazing staff and the opportunity to connect with so many people in the community. In her free time, she enjoys reading, spending time outdoors with her pup, and going on adventures with her husband.

Lead Kennel Assistant
Nate has been working in veterinary medicine for the last 7 years, after completing ABC veterinary assistance program. He prides himself on making sure all animals are comfortable during their stay with the clinic. In his free time, he loves to travel, play music, and bond with his dogs.
Laura
Kennel Assistant / CSR
Laura graduated from the University of Findlay in 2014 with a B. S. in Animal Science. She’s been working with animals for the last 6 years. She prides herself on taking care of boarded pets the same way she would take care of her own pets at home. In her free time, Laura loves doing anything creative.
