Our story is rooted in community, compassion, and a lifelong commitment to animal health. At Metz Petz Veterinary Clinic – Shawnee, we’re proud to care for the pets of Lima, OH, and the surrounding areas with knowledge, kindness, and heart.

Ada Opening Date: November 2007 | Shawnee Opening Date: August 2010.
We’re proud to serve our community in Ada and Shawnee. Many of our team members grew up here, and our clients feel like family. We understand the needs of our neighbors and value the lasting relationships we build with every client and patient.
Our Story
Drs. Nathan and Melissa Metz share a lifelong passion for animals. Both spent their younger years working and shadowing in veterinary clinics before earning their veterinary degrees at Ross University in St. Kitts, where they met and later married. After completing their clinical training in Texas, they returned to Melissa’s hometown area of Wapakoneta, Ohio.
They purchased what is now Metz Petz of Ada in 2007 (formerly Countryside Clinic with the late Dr. Houx) and later expanded by acquiring Metz Petz Veterinary Clinic – Shawnee in 2010 (formerly Elmview Veterinary Clinic with Dr. Brenneman).
